Eleven middle schools to compete in UIL District Meet

Students in sixth, seventh and eighth grade will compete in Calculator Applications, Dictionary Skills, Listening, Maps, Graphs and Charts, Mathematics, Number Sense, Ready Writing, Science, Social Studies and Spelling.

The One-Act Play portion of the District Meet will be held in March.

Participating schools include:
  • Brownsville ISD: Vela
  • Los Fresnos CISD: Liberty Memorial, Los Cuates and Resaca
  • Harlingen CISD: Coakley, Gutierrez, Memorial and Vernon
  • San Benito CISD: Berta Cabaza, Miller Jordan, and Riverside

Competition begins at 6 p.m. Friday and resumes at 9 a.m. Saturday. The last events are expected to be completed at about 3 p.m.

There will be team awards in each grade level, but they will not be presented until after the One-Act Play events.
